After connecting the dock to my laptop (HP Elitebook 850 G6, if it matters), I ran HPIA an see if it would update the dock's firmware.I did the below test, which turned out to be unsuccessfull. My unit was running firmware version 1.0.7.0 upon acquisition: I've been reading the technical whitepaper ( here), but there are some questions I still cannot find an answer.įirst question is: Can HP Image Assistant in itself update dock stations firmware?
I've been instructed to look at the HP Firmware Installer for Docks utility. I received an HP USB-C Dock G5 docking station unit, in order to review how we can manage its firmware update.
